I leave lights on in the evening when we go away. I've convinced T that I do it so we'll have light when we walk in the door. But I do it for Riley. :D
And I spread blankets on the couch when we'll be gone for a few hours. He doesn't go up the stairs so well, so he might as well be comfy on the couch!
