2) Saying good-bye to summer also means saying hello to fall. And what better way to do that than to do a little shopping? ;-D OK, before you start thinking I'm a total shopaholic (which I am), I should tell you that the main reason for me heading to the nearest mall (50 miles away) was to buy some clothes for JS. I also decided to head to my favorite retailer:
(Sorry about the blurry photo. I was kind of excited when I saw the store. ;-D )
Unfortunately, I didn't see anything that I really needed -- or liked, for that matter. So I left before I fell apart and started wailing, "Why? Why have you disappointed me so?" OK, not really.
3) What was falling apart, however, were my shoes. (I won't show them to you and the sad state they're in because, ick.) So I did what any intelligent woman would do, go console herself with a new pair of shoes ...
4)
... or two.
5) I know what you're thinking. You're thinking the second pair is a little to wild for JM. Sure, the color-blocked black/gray/grape pair is something you'd see me wearing. It's a classic flat, in neutral colors and doesn't draw attention to itself. But that leopard print one screams middle school. Well, you know what? I don't care. **me blowing raspberries** (which of course, is very middle school.) ;-D
6) Actually, if you've been following me on Pinterest, you'd have noticed that I've had my eye on a pair of leopard-print flats for quite some time. This is the pair I've had my eye on. But then I saw this ...
... and knew I wanted the pair I found instead. ;-D
7) Speaking of cats .... (OK, that was a very weak segue, but here goes) ... we've been cat-sitting for some friends. Well, technically, kitten sitting. Here's one of them now:
You may have seen him on my 365 Project page. He also has a companion.
Him:
No, not JD. I'm talking about the little black kitten on JD's chest. ;-D
8) Yeah, we've been testing the waters a little to see if it's time to add a Just Cat to our family. I'm really enthusiastic about the idea, and so is JS. But we still have to convince my hubby. Based on that photo, above, I think he's warming up to the idea though. ;-D
Let's see ... I think that's all to report.
Oh, wait! One more thing:
9)
I baked a cookie pizza for JS to celebrate the start of a new school year.
10) Little did I know the cookie pizza would also be the celebration of possible changes.

8 musing visitors:
Need to visit the kitty and your new shoes!!!
BAGL at the blurry Loft photo and your excuse!
Love all the shoes - love the kittens. Yes you need 1 or 2!
Any cookie left? ;)
love, love, love how flats look on other people...me not so much!
kitties are a neccessity in sd to keep the rodent population down!
WE all need changes in life (especially new clothes and shoes).
It's hard not to love little kitties, and these are sooooo cuddly!
JD looks like he kinda enjoyed the cuddling, altho, they do have a way of messing with computers....
Cookie did look yummy.............Glad he had a great first day!
:0)
I love the shoes, and that cookie pizza looks yummy!
My hubby always said he hated cats - until we got one! Now he talks to it, carried it around and generally spoils it.
You need a cat!
Ooooh a kitty! I've been thinking this way a little bit, too. Haven't gone to the extent of borrowing someone else's to see how it works out.
Also, my last trip to the mall (which was in OK) I went to the Loft and actually bought a pair of shorts. Not very "fall" of me, but it was the only thing I liked and... it was on sale, of course.
Yum...cookie pizza sounds good! And those shoes are very cute...have fun with them. :)
I heart LOFT. Cute shoes! Great find.
